thankful

I am thankful when I learn and grow and am challenged to become a better person through fear and struggle and loneliness.  I am doubly thankful when I learn and grow through times of fun and happiness and love and exhilaration.  This week has been one of those fun, joyful times.  I have been tangent to the freshest, most wonderful things on earth, and my mind and heart have expanded because of it.

Outside my office window…

A young couple are standing on the rocks by the ocean, praying.  They are holding hands with their eyes closed and heads bowed; the man is speaking.  They pray for several minutes, and then they smile and hug and kiss and continue their walk on the beach.  It looks very sweet.  I’d forgotten until just now that I used to dream about having something like that.
